In the battle between ISIS and ISIL, ISIS has apparently won.

President Obama and his administration most often referred to the Islamic terrorist group as “ISIL,” an acronym based its self-proclaimed name, “Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant,” levant referring to an area of the Middle East to the east of the Mediterranean Sea.
