The woman who was killed when her car struck a city truck in the Third Street Tunnel has been identified as 23-year-old Haja Seymore-Wilson of Northwest Washington, D.C. police said.
A D.C. Department of Public Works vehicle was stopped inside the tunnel where maintenance crews were to conduct some cleanup work. Shortly after midnight Tuesday, before the workers were able to get out of the truck, a southbound Chrysler Sebring struck the rear bumper of the work truck, authorities said. Seymore-Wilson was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead. Three DPW workers inside the truck were taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said
The crash investigation is ongoing.
