Two die in apparent murder-suicide
Damien Sharmek Stevens Jr., 28, and Lashawnda Makeisha, 31, were found shot to death in their Bladensburg apartment on 57th Avenue Wednesday night in what appears to be a murder-suicide, Prince George’s County police said. Alexandria man shot to death
Devon Lamont Jones, 22, of Alexandria, was shot to death around 8:40 p.m. Wednesday on the 4800 block of St. Barnabas Road, Prince George’s County police said. Jones and one or more suspects were arguing in front of a cashier’s booth when an assailant pulled out a handgun and shot him. Anyone with information should call 301-772-4925. – Freeman Klopott
Man assaulted with pipe
Two men assaulted a man with a pipe as he sat in a parked truck at a Chantilly intersection Tuesday night, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The men broke the truck’s window with a pipe and then robbed and assaulted the driver before driving away in their own vehicle. The victim was treated and released at the Lansdowne campus of Inova Loudoun Hospital.

Armed robbery attempted at Dumfries Waffle House
An armed man tried to empty the register at a Dumfries Waffle House restaurant early Wednesday morning, Prince William County police reported. A masked man with a handgun entered through an unlocked rear door and ordered a 48-year-old female employee to hand over the cash, the police reported.
However, just as the cashier opened the register, another employee walked in and the man escaped. The attempt came less than a week after a Woodbridge Popeyes restaurant manager was killed in a late-night robbery Jan. 22. The incidents have not been linked, police spokeswoman Officer Erika Hernandez said. – Dan Genz
