LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — The president and publisher of Advocate Communications Inc. in Danville, Scott Schurz Jr., is the new president of the Kentucky Press Association.

Schurz succeeds Willie Sawyers, publisher of the London Sentinel-Echo and The Times-Tribune in Corbin. Other officers elected were Rick Welch, The Messenger in Madisonville, president-elect; Loyd Ford, The Lake News in Calvert City, vice president; and Cheryle Walton, The Beattyville Enterprise, treasurer.
