Video from a security camera captured the moment a dirt bike rider in Southeast Washington, D.C. was gunned down in the middle of the day from a car with tinted windows.
The shooting happened Wednesday on Good Hope Road near the Anacostia Library. Five shots are fired before the rider comes into the frame, as shown in the video shared with the Washington Examiner.
As the rider turns onto a side street, four more shots are fired, the last of which appears to strike the man, who falls from his bike.
The 34-year-old man was conscious and breathing when he was taken to a nearby hospital after being struck in the hip, NBC 4 Washington reports.

A spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police Department told the Washington Examiner the victim was alive as of midday Thursday, and that the incident, described as assault with a dangerous weapon, is under investigation.
“I couldn’t believe this was happening in daytime in Washington, D.C.,” resident Joice Saucier told NBC 4.
