An American service member died Saturday in Iraq in a “non-combat incident,” U.S. military officials said Saturday.

Military officials have not yet released any information on the service member, nor any information on the circumstances surrounding the death. In the statement, officials said they will release more information on the incident as appropriate, following protocol of not releasing potentially sensitive information before notifying the next of kin.
