Two men showed their support for former President Donald Trump during a Yankees game with a banner claiming the 2020 election was fraudulent.
“Trump Won – Save America,” the banner unfurled at Yankee Stadium on Thursday read.
The banner was met with boos from other attendees, and one man was even seen jumping from a deck below to pull it down. Security eventually escorted the two men who unfurled the banner from the stadium, with one of the men appearing to be handcuffed.
“Sounded like the entire crowd was booing until security confiscated the banner, which then resulted in a large cheer,” tweeted Max Goodman, a Sports Illustrated reporter.
The banner was referencing claims from Trump that the 2020 election was a “big lie” and “stolen” from him, which has sparked some states to launch audits of the election.
“The 2020 Election, which didn’t even have Legislative approvals from many States (which is required under the U.S. Constitution), and was also otherwise corrupt, was indeed The Big Lie,” Trump said in a message on May 6. “An even greater Hoax than Russia, Russia, Russia, Mueller, Mueller, Mueller, Impeachment Hoax #1, Impeachment Hoax #2, or any of the other many scams the Democrats pulled!”

The banner wasn’t the first time the Big Apple has seen large displays pledging support for Trump, including a “Trump 2020” banner that was also unfurled at a Yankees game in 2018.
New Yorkers have also publicly denounced Democratic leaders with large banners, most notably last Labor Day when a flag reading “THE GOV KILLED NANA” was flown across the city, referencing a controversial order from Gov. Andrew Cuomo that required some recovering coronavirus patients to be placed into nursing homes.
