Democrats are abandoning Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner in droves after detailed new sexual assault allegations in what looks like a coordinated effort to get him to drop out by July 13, the deadline for replacing him on the ballot under state law.
The party managed to force a similar switch after then-President Joe Biden debated Donald Trump (before Biden was able to secure renomination at the Democratic National Convention) and turned in such a disastrous performance that Democrats were ready to disregard the primary results.
