A big question facing Maine Democrats as they look to replace Senate primary winner Graham Platner on the November ballot is whether they can harness the enthusiasm of his supporters with another candidate.

Platner’s defiant, emotional speech in an 11-minute video announcing his withdrawal from the race could either radicalize or demoralize those voters.
