Democrats scored big wins across the board on Tuesday night in the first major elections of President Donald Trump’s second term, giving them new hope they can retake Congress during next year’s midterm elections.
The Democrats swept the gubernatorial contests in Virginia and New Jersey, the mayoral election in New York, the state Supreme Court races in Pennsylvania, and prevailed in a ballot initiative that would effectively give the party control of congressional redistricting in California.
