Iranian charged with forged letter An Iranian man living in Gaithersburg was charged with submitting a fake letter from a United Nations official in support of his immigration application.

Hossein Dehbashi, 38, faces up to 10 years in prison. Prosecutors said he applied to become a permanent U.S. resident and filed a letter purportedly from the director of communications of the U.N. Prosecutors said Dehbashi knew the letter was forged.

Man dies after assault in alley

Montgomery County police are investigating the death of 25-year-old a man who died after he was assaulted in the Piney Branch area of Silver Spring.

Police said Felipe Flores Giron was found around 1 a.m. Monday in an alley, suffering from trauma to his upper body.

He was taken to a hospital where he died.

Mother, son found dead

Prince George’s County police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide involving a woman in her 60s and her disabled son.

The bodies of 65-year-old Patricia Ann Corder shot and her 39-year-old son, Tracy Adam Corder, were discovered shot to death at their home in the 1600 block of Clarion Terrace in Fort Washington.

Police said the mother recently had been diagnosed with a terminal illness and they believe she shot her son before killing herself.

The son used a wheelchair but was able to drive and had a job, police said.
