A Florida teacher was accused of having sex with a 16-year-old student after he posted about his relationship on a social networking site.

Allen James Guerin, 28, was arrested on one count of unlawful sexual activity with a minor. The teacher and student began a sexual relationship in January, during the time Guerin’s wife was giving birth to their first child.

Guerin wrote on his MySpace page that he was falling in love with the girl, but called off the relationship last week after his wife discovered the message, authorities said.

“I do not understand why highly educated schoolteachers continue to engage in sexual relationships with the students,” said Polk Sheriff Grady Judd.

The man apologized and said he was just trying to get the driver’s attention so he could get a ride.

The cop obliged, and drove him to the station for booking.
