Hyattsville woman disappeared without a trace

Leann Faulk was well-loved by her family and close with her boyfriend. She didn’t have a driver’s license. But on Nov. 17, 1985, the 21-year-old disappeared without a trace.

Little is known about what Faulk did the night she went missing.

Sometime in the afternoon, authorities say, Faulk went with her boyfriend to his parents’ house in Hyattsville to get some cash. Later that night, she was seen at a Hyattsville-area bar with a man known only as “J.J.”

Police believe she may have been killed, but neither her body nor any evidence of a homicide has ever been found. When authorities searched her Hyattsville apartment, they found no signs of forced entry. Faulk had also left behind her personal belongings, including her purse.

At the time of her disappearance, Faulk was about 5 feet tall and weighed about 130 pounds. She had a rose tattooed on her left shoulder blade and “Mike” tattooed on the inside of her left leg. There was a tattoo of a cross on her left big toe and a butterfly on her stomach.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Prince George’s County police Hyattsville station at 301-240-7562.
