Three people were killed and four were injured in a house fire in Lorton on Wednesday morning.A woman and two children were killed in the blaze, which broke out at about 8:30 a.m., according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department.
The house is located at 9639 Hagel Circle in Lorton, spokeswoman Renee Stilwell said.
A 6-year-old boy, an 8-year-old boy and a 2-month-old girl were taken to the Washington Hospital Center for treatment. An adult man was also taken to the hospital.
Fire and Rescue spokesman Dan Schmidt said Wednesday afternoon that their injuries were not life-threatening.
The cause of the blaze, which took 90 minutes to extinguish, is under investigation. The woman and children killed in the fire were dead when firefighters got to them, Schmidt said. The state medical examiner will perform autopsies to determine the cause of death.
