Gaithersburg police are seeking information about the attempted kidnapping of a 14-year-old boy.
The victim told police that he was running on the sidewalk of Midsummer Drive at about 7 p.m. on April 22 when a man exited a van and grabbed him by the arm. The boy pushed the assailant away, and the culprit got back in the van and drove off, police said.

Police have released a sketch of the culprit. He is described as black or Hispanic, about 6 feet tall, and 200 pounds. He had a muscular build and a goatee and was wearing a white crew-neck shirt, white pants and tan boots.
The assailant’s vehicle was described as a white, square-style van with red trim around the top. It has a sliding door on the passenger’s side.
