D.C. Sniper Lee Boyd Malvo said in a national television interview that he was sexually abused by his accomplice, John Allen Muhammad.
“For the entire period when I was almost 15 until I got arrested, I was sexually abused by John Muhammad,” Malvo said in a telephone interview that aired on the “Today” show Thursday. He also said that he had been sexually abused by a babysitter when he was 5 and by relatives when he was 8 or 9.

The claims were counter to what he told The Washington Post in September. Malvo claimed then that Muhammad had not molested him.
In 2002, Malvo and Muhammad went on a shooting rampage that killed 10 people in the D.C. area. Muhammad was executed in 2009 and Malvo is serving a life sentence in prison.
The pair were linked to a total of 27 shootings across the country, but Malvo said in the interview that there are additional, still unidentified victims. He said that he reached out to families of five unidentified victims.
Malvo said told a “Today” show producer that it would be his last interview about the crimes.
