Prince George’s police investigating homicide

A Capitol Heights man driving in the Largo area was gunned down early Sunday after arguing with another motorist, Prince George’s County police said.

Keith Eugene Brown, 35, of the 4200 block of Urn Street, was found at 1:49 a.m. at the intersection of Brightseat Road and Central Avenue suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was declared dead a short time later.

Police said Brown was driving on Central Avenue with three passengers when he got into a traffic altercation with a dark-colored vehicle; the altercation escalated into an argument. Someone in the dark-colored vehicle fired a shot that struck Brown. Police are attempting to get a better description of the suspect’s vehicle.

Arrests made in violent  robberies in Washington

Two people were arrested Saturday night in connection with a series of recent street robberies in Georgetown and Dupont Circle, D.C. police said. Acting Second District Cmdr. Matthew Klein announced in an e-mail the arrest of two people who “we strongly believe were responsible for the vast majority of those violent cases,” in which victims were either thrown to the ground or beaten.

At least four robberies occurred Friday night into Saturday morning: at 28th and O streets NW, on the 3100 block of O Street, on the 3700 block of Reservoir Road, and on the 1600 block of New Hampshire Avenue. The suspects’ names were not available Sunday.

Three people dead after Route 50 crash Saturday

Three people were killed early Saturday after a violent collision on Route 50 near Landover, Prince George’s County police said.

A 2003 Acura MDX was reportedly speeding in the eastbound lanes of Route 50 when it smashed into the back of a 2008 Nissan

Sentra, sending the Nissan off the road and into a tree.

Three passengers in the Nissan died, including two who were thrown from the vehicle. Three other people were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. – Staff reports
