Police say they have apprehended a man linked to three Northern Virginia bank robberies committed in September, thanks to alert bank employees. Alexandria police said workers at the SunTrust Bank located at 3610 King St. saw a suspicious man in the lobby of the branch at about 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 30. The employees recognized the man as the robber who held up the same branch on Sept. 7.

In that robbery, police said, the man entered the bank and demanded money. A teller handed over cash, and the thief then fled from the bank on foot.
