The Charles County Sheriff’s Office has received an award recognizing the agency’s support for its employees who serve in the Air National Guard.

The sheriff’s office, along with Charles County Sheriff Rex W. Coffey, received a Hometown Hero award from the U.S. Air Force. Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Diane Richardson said the agency supports employees who are military members by allowing them to take time off to perform their service to the country.
