Va Tech student missing after concert
Police are looking for a Virginia Tech student who has been missing since Saturday. Morgan Dana Harrington, 20, was last seen at a Metallica concert in Charlottesville. Police said Harrington was wearing a black T-shirt with “Pantera” across the front, a black miniskirt, black tights and black knee-high boots. She has long blond hair, blue eyes and is 5-foot-6 and weights 120 pounds.
Police: Woman lights boyfriend on fire
A 29-year-old Falls Church woman has been accused of dowsing her boyfriend with rubbing alcohol and setting him on fire, Fairfax County police said. Ingrid Herrera was arguing with her boyfriend when she lit him on fire early Sunday morning, police said. When a 24-year-old woman who lived in their home on the 3400 block of Payne Street called police, Herrera allegedly grabbed the phone and hung it up. The upper half of the boyfriend’s body was burned, but he’s expected to recover, police said.
Marine to plead guilty
to faking war wounds
A Marine sergeant charged with faking battle injuries will plead guilty at a court-martial hearing Wednesday. Sgt. David W. Budwah, 34, of Louisiana, will enter the plea at Quantico. Budwah is accused of bluffing his way into 33 events last year, including six rock concerts, two Washington Nationals games and a Washington Redskins game. He is also accused of wearing eight unearned medals and giving a speech to young boys at a camp in Frederick County. He claimed to have been wounded in Afghanistan when he dove on a grenade.
Two sentenced in country club theft
Two men were sentenced to four years in prison in a scheme to steal nearly $2 million from the Argyle Country Club in Silver Spring. Akinyeme Bamisaiye, 41, of Howard County, and Sajjad Nazar Mahar, 49, of West Virginia created fake employees and kept former employees on the payroll and deposited the bogus payroll checks into their own accounts. They were ordered to forfeit more than $1.3 million.
