Police seek Silver Spring burglars

Montgomery County Police are investigating two Silver Spring burglaries that might be linked, and they are asking the public to help identify the suspects.

At about 11:30 a.m. Monday, police responded to a burglary in progress in the 9500 block of McAlpine. A neighbor watched two men in a green sports-utility vehicle drive up and one of the suspects knock on the side door. When no one answered kicked in the door. Police searched the area but could not find the suspects.

Fifteen minutes later, police responded to a residential alarm in the 10000 block of Burnett Avenue. Home video surveillance showed a black man approaching the residence, knocking on the door and kick the door open. A green SUV was used in the theft, police said.

The suspect who entered the homes is an black male, 160 pounds, about 25 years old, 5-feet-9, with a mustache and goatee. Police do not have a description of the driver of the SUV.
