MANASSAS, Va. (AP) — A former library worker at a northern Virginia elementary school has pleaded guilty to 22 felony sex-abuse charges as part of a plea bargain.

Steffon Christian worked for nearly 20 years as a kindergarten assistant and then as a library secretary at Baldwin Elementary School in Manassas. On Monday, the 48-year-old admitted molesting at least seven boys. Victims said the abuse occurred at the school and at Christian’s home.

Christian, who hasn’t worked at Baldwin since 1999, was arrested after a now-adult victim contacted police in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky scandal at Penn State.

The News and Messenger (http://bit.ly/LO6zgf) reports that under a plea bargain 45 of the original 67 charges against Christian were dropped.

Sentencing was set for September 27.
