The Gaithersburg man suspected in the disappearance of his traveling companion in Aruba had an insurance policy that covered the missing woman.

Gary Giordano mentioned the travel insurance to Aruban investigators, but authorities haven’t yet determined whether it is relevant in the disappearance of 35-year-old Robyn Gardner, Solicitor General Taco Stein told the Associated Press.
Stein said the policy included both Gardner, of Frederick, and Giordano. It wasn’t clear who was the beneficiary.
Gardner was last seen on the Caribbean island Aug. 2. Giordano, 50, was detained at the airport while trying to leave three days later and is suspected of being having been involved in her disappearance and presumed death.
