D.C. police are investigating three separate shootings that occurred in a two-hour time span.

The first incident took place at about 8 p.m. Wednesday in the 3300 block of 23rd Street SE. The victim, a man, was approached by the shooter and ran. The shooter opened fire, striking the victim in the elbow, police spokeswoman Officer Tisha Gant said.
