Dead baby found in Sterling pond

A newborn baby was found dead in a Sterling, Va., pond, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies received a call around 11:30 a.m. from somebody walking by the pond, which is surrounded by several homes.

Investigators believe the child was dumped in the pond, and are looking for the mother. Deputies were canvassing the area, looking for clues and information about anyone who may have been expecting a child.
