The state of Maryland has filed a lawsuit over a deadly 2008 medical helicopter crash in Prince George’s County. Maryland officials claim in the suit against the U.S. government that Federal Aviation Administration air traffic controllers responded inadequately during the incident, and failed to provide proper support to the helicopter’s crew.

According to the suit, the FAA controllers gave outdated weather information, were distracted and didn’t coordinate the helicopter’s path to ensure its safety.
