The Oyster-Adams elementary school in Northwest Washington was evacuated after the school received a package containing white powder on Wednesday morning.

The package was discovered by a worker at the bilingual school around 10:20 a.m., and the school was cleared, police said.

Emergency crews determined that the powder was not hazardous, and the students were allowed to return to school shortly after noon, police said.
