Freeman, who calls himself Dr. Shine and claims to treat addicts through the rites of exorcism, served as pastor and leader of Save the Seed Ministry.

Freeman used money from church members to accumulate substantial assets, including 11 luxury cars valued at more than $1 million and a $1.75 million residence, which he concealed from the bankruptcy court in 2005.

Man shot friend at Hooters, police say

A Manassas man was arrested after he accidentally shot his female friend in the ankle at a Hooters restaurant, police said.

Christopher E. Bohn, 36, was charged with willfully discharging firearms in a public place, according to Fairfax County police.

Shortly after 5:30 p.m. Saturday, police went to the Hooters at 14441 Brookfield Tower Drive in Chantilly and found a 22-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to her ankle. She was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the victim was at the restaurant with friends when Bohn reloaded his handgun and accidentally fired it.

Man shoots self at Gallery Place

D.C. police said a man accidentally shot himself in the leg not far from the Gallery Place Metro station.

The incident occurred about 5:30 a.m. Monday on the 600 block of F Street NW. The man was conscious and breathing, police spokeswoman Officer Tisha Gant said.

Police consider the shooting to be a closed case.
