Police: Man shot girlfriend in Laurel murder-suicide

Police say a man killed his girlfriend, then fatally shot himself, in Laurel.
Officers responded to a shooting on the 14100 block of Bramble Court at about 7 p.m. Sunday and found two young adults slain inside, according to Prince George’s County police. Police on Monday identified the two as 21-year-old Adam Owsley and 19-year-old Aeris Beard and said investigators determined that Owsley shot Beard, then killed himself. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The two had been in a relationship for about three years, police said.
Man killed in cooking accident identified
Prince George’s County fire officials have identified the man who was killed last week after he accidentally set his clothes on fire while cooking.
The man was identified as 51-year-old Jerry Holloway, and he died from burn injuries, spokesman Mark Brady said.
At about 11 a.m. Wednesday, firefighters responded to a report of smoke at an apartment complex at 5802 Annapolis Road and found Holloway on the floor in his sixth-floor residence. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
His was the first fire fatality in Prince George’s County in 2012.
Pedestrian struck, killed in school parking lot
A woman was struck and killed in the parking lot of a Prince George’s County elementary school.
Prince George’s County police said the woman was hit in the parking lot of Samuel Chase Elementary School, 5700 Fisher Road, in Temple Hills. Police and fire officials responded to the school around 11:15 a.m. Monday and found the woman trapped under a van. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
County schools were closed Monday for a teacher planning day. It was not known whether the woman worked at the school.
