Firefighter injured in P.G. A firefighter was injured when he fell through a floor while battling a blaze at a Landover townhouse early Saturday.
The 30-year-old, volunteer fireman from the Kentland station, fell through a hole in the house’s first floor into the basement, suffering significant second-degree burns to his back, according to Prince George’s County fire and emergency services.

The blaze broke out at the home on the 9000 block of Continental Place at about 3:30 a.m. The house and the two adjacent townhomes were unoccupied and were being remodeled, according to fire officials.
Woman in critical after hit-run in Glen Burnie
A woman is in critical condition after being hit by an SUV while crossing a street in Glen Burni, Anne Arundel County police said.
Police said 42-year-old Enid C. Dukule was struck while walking near the 7900 block of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard. She was in a crosswalk, but had tried to cross the street despite a “Don’t Walk” signal, police said. Her injuries are life-threatening.
The driver of the SUV didn’t stay at the scene. The incident happened at about 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Deadly driver sentenced for illegal re-entry
The garbage truck driver who struck and killed a bicyclist in Dupont Circle in 2008 has been sentenced to two years and seven months in prison for illegally re-entering the United States after having been deported for an aggravated felony.
Marco Rosendo Flores-Fuentes, 48, was deported to Mexico in 1994 after serving more than two years in prison for a marijuana importation and distribution conviction. He illegally re-entered the United States a few years later, court records say.
Flores-Fuentes’ truck fatally hit 22-year-old Alice Swanson on July 8, 2008.
