LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) — A jury is recommending 35 years in prison for a Richmond man who was convicted of killing his 86-year-old mother-in-law in Lynchburg.
According to media reports, sentencing is scheduled for July 16 for 50-year-old Scott Crissman Miles for the beating death of Lynda Yeatts Slocum. Jurors who convicted Miles on Wednesday of first-degree murder recommended the 35-year sentence on Thursday.
