A Severn man was arrested Tuesday after his 5-year-old son accidentally drank methadone and stopped breathing, Anne Arundel County police said.

Paul Kristopher Brooks, 28, was arrested after police responded to reports that his 5-year-old was not breathing at his Severn home. A caller had informed police that the boy had accidentally taken methadone and indicated that CPR was being performed on the boy. When officers arrived on-scene, Brooks gave them a bottle of pink liquid that he said was methadone, police said.
