U.S. marshals are looking for a man convicted of sexually assaulting two young girls of an immigrant family more than a decade ago.

Frank Bernard McCright, now 66, disappeared while a Prince George’s County jury deliberated at his trial in 1996. He was convicted the next day, and McCright has not been seen since.

He may have fled to the Philippines or Southeast Asia, authorities said, but they have not given up hope that he will be brought to justice.

“In these days of the internet, the world has become a much smaller place for people on the run,” said Supervisory Inspector Matt Burke of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force. “We want to send a message that we will never stop looking for you, and ultimately we will find you.”

In December, a tip from an online reader of The Washington Examiner led directly to the capture of a man wanted in a cold case murder in Norfolk, Va. Other tips have led directly to the capture of fugitives in New York and North Carolina.

McCright, who had been to Southeast Asia as a member of the U.S. military, befriended an immigrant family from Vietnam around 1994 in Prince George’s County. Shortly afterward, he began sexually assaulting two young female members of the family. He was arrested in 1996.

McCright has lived in Silver Spring and spent time in Hyattsville. He is originally from Illinois.

He is listed as being 5-feet-10 and 190 pounds. He is likely working somewhere in a professional capacity and will look older than the photo taken in 1996.

Anyone with information should call the task force at 301-489-1717.
