Conservative commentator Tony Blankley died Sunday morning. He was 63. Blankley had been battling stomach cancer.
Blankley was policy analyst and speech writer for President Ronald Reagan before serving as House Speaker Newt Gingrich’s press secretary.

Most recently, Blankley was an executive vice president of the Edelman public-relations firm in D.C., a syndicated newspaper columnist and an on-air political commentator for CNN, NBC and NPR. He was a regular panelist on The McLaughlin Group.
Before coming to Washington, Blankley was a prosecutor with the California attorney general’s office.
Born in London, Blankley became an American citizen after moving with his parents to California. He became a child actor, appearing as Rod Steiger’s child in the movie “The Harder They Fall.” He also appeared in “Lassie” and “Make Room for Daddy.”
