Nine people are dead in Pennsylvania after a gunman opened fire Friday in Erie, Gov. Josh Shapiro (D-PA) said Saturday.

Two children appeared to be among those killed in a mass shooting after witnesses reported seeing a man firing a gun before he entered a home on Perry Street around 5 p.m. on Friday. Two women were shot on the street outside the home, and more victims were found dead inside the residence, according to CBS News, with police saying the suspect was also found dead with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Eight were killed, with the death count rising to nine when accounting for the shooter.
