On this day, Jan. 24, in 1989, serial killer Ted Bundy was executed in the electric chair, and about 2,000 people gathered outside the Florida State Prison in Starke cheered when they heard the news.

“I’d like you to give my love to my family and friends” were Bundy’s last words.
