A man was charged with murder in the shooting death of another man over a neighborhood dispute in Fairfax County.
Police said Stephen Carr, 48, was shot in the upper body at about 10 p.m. Sunday on the 6800 block of Field Master Drive in Burke.
A neighbor, David A. Patton, 44, was charged with second-degree murder. The two men apparently had a long-standing disagreement over a traffic speed bump in the neighborhood.
Patton was arrested earlier this summer for allegedly assaulting Carr. His trial in the assault case was scheduled for this week.
Patton faces an Oct. 19 preliminary hearing on the murder charge.
