2 sentenced in $320,000 bank fraud

GREENBELT, Md. (AP) — Two men have been sentenced for their part in a bank fraud plot which stole $320,000.

Twenty-three-year-old Stephen L. Wise of Washington was sentenced Tuesday to more than three years in prison and ordered to pay nearly $59,000 in restitution. Thirty-nine-year-old Kodjo Panyin Duncan of Lanham was sentenced Monday to nearly four years in prison and ordered to pay restitution of $115,000.

According to their plea agreements, Wise, Duncan and others obtained checks from their victims and altered the names on the checks. They also created counterfeit checks.
