Officer who shot armed man was 9-year veteran

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) — Prince George’s County police say an officer who shot and killed an armed man is a nine-year law enforcement veteran.

Police identified the officer on Sunday as Officer Brian Newcomer, who works in patrol in the third district.
