U.S. Sen. Mike Crapo was charged in Alexandria with driving under the influence of alcohol, police said.
The Idaho Republican’s personal vehicle was pulled over at Hume Avenue and Mount Vernon Avenue early Sunday morning, after an officer noticed the car go through a red light. Crapo, 61, then failed several field sobriety tests and was arrested, according to Alexandria police. He was released from the Alexandria Adult Detention Center on a $1,000 bond and has a Jan. 4. court date.
