Eight people suffered minor injuries when a MARC commuter train in Hyattsville hit a stopped Metrobus, which then struck another bus, authorities said.

It happened near Queensbury Road and Rhode Island Avenue in the Riverdale Park section of track. Shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday, the passenger train clipped the back end of a Metrobus, which was then knocked into another Metrobus, Prince George’s fire department spokesman Mark Brady said.

Seven people from that second bus and the driver of the first bus were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to Metro.

The accident caused delays on MARC’s Camden Line, which runs between Washington and Baltimore. After the crash, all MARC and CSX trains were stopped at the Riverdale Park train station.
