Police continue to look for a man who robbed a Bank of America branch in Alexandria.
On Jan. 21 at 10:41 a.m., a robber entered the bank at 600 North Washington St. He walked to a teller, displayed a handgun and demanded cash. The robber made away with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured.
The suspect is a thin black male in his 30s about 6 feet tall. As seen in a surveillance video, the suspect was wearing a two-tone knit cap, dark hooded jacket and dark pants. His face and hands were not covered.
Alexandria police said the suspect is not believed to be connected to any other robberies.
The same bank was robbed in December 2010, though police do not think the two incidents are connected based on surveillance video evidence. In the December robbery the suspect entered the bank around 2:49 p.m., implied he a weapon and made off with an undisclosed amount of money. No one was injured. That suspect was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, light colored coat, dark pants and a knit hat with a diamond design. The suspect is wearing glasses in the surveillance video.
