Georgetown University’s main chapel was vandalized between Saturday night and Sunday morning, the school’s president said, forcing Sunday morning masses to be relocated to allow officers to investigate the crime.

In a campus-wide email to students, University President John J. DeGioia said furniture and other fixtures inside the Dahlgren Chapel were damaged. Preliminary investigations showed that “there was no desecration of the Blessed Sacrament or any religious symbols,” he wrote.
