A Beltsville man has been arrested in connection with a woman’s murder in Berwyn Heights, police said.
Andrew Heinz Kugler was arrested Monday on a warrant charging him with second-degree murder, according to Prince George’s County police.

Sunday at about 3:30 p.m., officers went to the 8600 block of 57th Avenue and found 36-year-old Amber Danielle Schinault in a basement with lacerations to her neck, according to Berwyn Heights and county authorities. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives identified Kugler as the suspect, and he was apprehended Monday morning near Calvert Road and Bowdoin Street in College Park, Prince George’s County police said. Before he was placed in custody, officials say he tried to kill himself by cutting his wrist. He was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The Associated Press reported that Schinault was Kugler’s ex-girlfriend.
