Washington Examiner chief political correspondent Byron York warned that while Republicans remain favored to hold the Senate in 2026, the party’s narrow path to maintaining its majority has become more precarious as Democrats target several competitive races. 

“I’ve been pretty pessimistic as far as Republicans holding the house,” York said on the Hugh Hewitt Show on Wednesday. York pointed to what he called “five reasons why they’re probably not gonna hold the House.”
