Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-OH) was pulled from camera view after she was caught snoozing in the background while House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) gave an impassioned speech.
On Thursday, Jeffries gave his “magic minute” speech to delay the passage of President Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful bill.” The speech began at 4:53 a.m. after an already lengthy day for the House, leaving many representatives sleep-deprived. Jeffries’s passion wasn’t enough to keep Kaptur awake, and she began dozing off.
