Jared Moskowitz posts meme parodying ‘Apprentice’ firing of Bondi

Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) took a jab at Pam Bondi’s firing as attorney general by parodying her as a contestant on the reality television show The Apprentice

The show, hosted by Donald Trump for over a decade before he became president, features 16 contestants competing for a job with Trump, with each episode Trump telling a losing contestant, “You’re fired.” Moskowitz’s meme splices footage from the show with Bondi’s congressional hearing on her handling of the case against convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, with Trump telling her, “You’re just [a] distraction to the team,” and he’s unsure “if you can lead under pressure.”

“The DOW is over $50,000, I don’t know why you’re laughing!” Bondi said, a memorable moment from the hearing.

The video then plays footage of Trump pointing his finger and saying, “You’re fired,” followed by footage of Bondi appearing shocked.

The Apprentice aired on NBC from 2004 to 2017, though the network split with Trump in June 2015, the month he announced his run for president, over statements he made about immigrants. The show made its streaming debut on Amazon Prime last year.

OPINION | TRUMP OUSTS BONDI OVER EPSTEIN DEBACLE

Trump on Truth Social said Bondi did “a tremendous job” as attorney general and that she would transition to an “important new job in the private sector.” He named Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche as her interim replacement.

House Republicans, including Reps. Thomas Massie (KY) and Nancy Mace (SC) expressed optimism in social media posts that Bondi’s successor will bring justice to Epstein victims. Both lawmakers criticized Bondi’s handling of matters related to the convicted sex offender.
