Trump attacks Fani Willis admitting she had a relationship with prosecutor: ‘Scam is totally discredited’

Former President Donald Trump claimed Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis‘s prosecution of him on racketeering charges is “totally discredited” after Willis disclosed her relationship with a prosecutor on the case.

Trump accused Willis of being “able to get her ‘lover’ much more money” by going after him with the prosecution in the Peach State in a post on Truth Social on Friday.

“Fani Willis, the D.A. of Fulton County, just admitted to having a sexual relationship with the Prosecutor she, in consultation with the White House and DOJ, appointed to ‘GET PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP.’ By going after the most high level person, and the Republican Nominee, she was able to get her ‘lover’ much more money, almost a Million Dollars, than she would be able to get for the prosecution of any other person or individual. THAT MEANS THAT THIS SCAM IS TOTALLY DISCREDITED & OVER!” Trump said in a post.

In a court filing on Friday, Willis did not deny a relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade but argued that she should not be disqualified from the case because it does meet the legal threshold for her to be dismissed.

“To be absolutely clear, the personal relationship between Special Prosecutor Wade and District Attorney Willis has never involved direct or indirect financial benefit to District Attorney Willis,” the filing said. “Defendants have produced no evidence to suggest that there is any circumstance that would constitute a financial incentive on the District Attorney’s part to pursue a conviction in this case through the appointment of Special Prosecutor Wade.”

Willis also asked the judge to dismiss the claims of a conflict of interest, which she says are meritless, without a hearing, which is scheduled for Feb. 15. Allegations about a relationship between Willis and Wade were first made in a court filing last month by lawyers for one of Trump’s alleged co-conspirators in the racketeering case.

Trump was indicted in Fulton County in August 2023 on racketeering charges over his alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election in Georgia.
