Attorney General Todd Blanche on Monday committed to releasing more government records related to Saudi Arabia’s possible connections to 9/11, in response to family members of those who died during the attacks who have fought for more information on the issue. 

On the 25th anniversary of 9/11 last week, several family members attended a New York City ceremony where they made direct appeals to the Trump administration to release more information, describing the government’s handling of the issue since Sept. 11, 2001, as “one betrayal after another.” When pressed on the controversy, Blanche argued during a CBS News interview this week that some records contain “genuine classified information,” but said that the Trump administration is working to declassify as many documents as it can, and is not looking to protect any other “government or any entity.”
