The deal, touted as “less than a fourth” of the typical annual membership cost of $45, is only for new members or those who have had inactive accounts of six months or more.

It also does not apply to “Plus” members, a level that includes free shipping and pharmacy discounts.
Sam’s Club called it “one awesome deal” in response to a Twitter user who wrote: “Been waiting for a [deal] to join and here it is! Thanks!”
However, frustrations of current members surfaced on social media over the weekend in response to the deal.
“So what promotions or offers are you having for your already members because this really isn’t fair,” a user tweeted.
Another tweeted: “Do better for your current members. Retention! I’ve been a member for 20+ years.”
Others slammed Sam’s Club for not offering renewal specials.
“Y’all never offer renewal specials for current members! Very discouraging,” another user tweeted.
Some threatened to cancel their memberships.
“Oh yeah? Cool, I gotta new promo too,” another tweet said. “Its the ‘gonna cancel tomorrow bc I been payin 45.’”
The offer is limited to one per person and cannot be claimed online, Sam’s Club said.
